If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen a lot of beautiful images from one of my new favorite Virginia venues: Great Marsh Estate. As you enter the property, you are greeted with stone and iron rod gates. You travel along a tree-lined driveway, while passing a stone water fountain. As you’re driving up the driveway, you get little sneak peeks of the Gregorian estate through the trees. Then you see it—the absolutely stunning Great Marsh Estate! And if you think the outside is as spectacular as I do, just wait until you see the inside! The staircase, bridal suite, and pineapple room are my favorites!
In this off season, I have been challenging myself to shoot film and film only! And I did it!! This Valentine’s Day inspired editorial was shortly after I finished an online film course called “FIND in a Box” and I was so excited to practice all the things I had learned! Also, the beautiful bride is a local photographer who I have wanted to meet, but our schedules just never seemed to match. She and her husband were the perfect models and you wouldn’t know that it was freezing cold while we were shooting.
During groom portraits, I noticed his unique ring and made mention of how much I liked it. Turns out, the middle portion of his ring was one of his grandparents’ wedding bands. He wanted to keep that precious treasure, but also make it his own, buy creating his own wedding band around it.
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who helped make this shoot possible!
