When my couples starting preparing for an engagement session, I like to share some favorite locations and help them brainstorm for the perfect spot! Oatlands Historic House and Gardens was the perfect location for Melinda and Chris, because they really wanted a garden with lots of greenery. This is one of my top recommendations, so much so, that we had our own engagement session there last year!
Meeting Melinda and Chris was like meeting two peas in a pod! For the little time that we talked over Skype, I could tell they were made for one another! They met online through Match.com and had their first official meeting at a small coffee shop in Alexandria, Virginia. Melinda and Chris are such a perfect match that they ended up talking for hours! It became apparent to them very quickly that they complement each other throughout all aspects of their lives.
Melinda and Chris are a very active couple, which Melinda says helps bond them closer together. Chris told Melinda that a local yoga studio they attended regularly and love, was having a photo shoot to revamp their website. Chris said they had been asked to be a part of the photo shoot, so of course Melinda said she’s attend and model. When they arrived, it was only the two of them taking photos for a supposed new partner class they were introducing. While they were posing, Melinda twisted in a posture facing away from Chris. He called out her name and as she turned around, Melinda saw that Chris was down on one knee proposing. After she said“yes,”she was further surprised, because Chris had also invited Melinda’s family, as well as his family, to be at the yoga studio to help them celebrate! Melinda is so excited and grateful that Chris hired a photographer to be there to capture such a memorable and treasured day!
In August, Chris and Melinda will become husband and wife in a very intimate ceremony at Walden Hall. Its going to be a charming wedding with lots of precious family time as they begin this new chapter as a married couple.
