Even though I didn’t graduate from there, University of Virginia is my favorite college! I love all the architecture, gardens, and the atmosphere. When Adrianna and Nicholas mentioned they wanted to do their engagement session at UVA, I of course said, “YES!” I always love the gorgeous scenery and the white marble of the Rotunda!
Another reason I was so excited about Adrianna and Nicholas choosing the University of Virginia was because it was a part of their love story! They met each other their first year at UVA, but did not really start hanging out until the end of their third year. Then their fourth year, that’s when they started dating. Up until the time they began dating, they had never really hung out one-on-one together before. They described it as “hanging out with the best friend I never knew I had!”
Adrianna and Nicholas are quite the outdoorsy folks! Their favorite dates involve outdoors or physical activity-type things such as hiking, climbing, apple picking, and ice skating. They then complete their date by going out to dinner afterwards. Their favorite restaurant in Charlottesville is Fellinis on the Charlottesville downtown mall.
They had already discussed getting married and had actually picked out Adrianna’s ring together. Nicholas wanted to surprise Adrianna with the ring and actual proposal though, so she had no idea when it was going to happen. On her birthday this past November, they had plans to go hiking in Harper’s Ferry West Virginia. On the way, Nicholas made an unscheduled stop at a restaurant that had a gazebo overlooking a beautiful vista of the Appalachians. He pulled out Adrianna’s dancing shoes and Hufflepuff scarves. While dancing to jazz music and wearing their scarves, Nat King Cole’s “I Love You” came on, and it was in that moment that Nicholas proposed!
In October 2017, Adrianna and Nicholas will become husband and wife! They are planning an autumn woodland celebration! I can’t wait to see all the amazing DIY details that Adrianna is creating!
