October 1st, 2017 will go down in history as an amazing, magical, and love-filled day! Miranda and Riley got married at Stevenson Ridge in Spotsylvania, VA. It was the perfect fall day with a nice breeze, changing leaves, and a beautiful couple madly in love! When we first arrived at the Riddick House, we walked in to find Riley creating his own boutonnière and the bridesmaids designing their own bouquets! Miranda was upstairs getting ready and looking like a modern day Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, with her flowy hair, bold lips, and off the shoulder dress. The house was a buzz with all the excitement and anticipation of their impending ceremony!
From the beginning, they knew they did not want a matchy style wedding. They decided to include six different colors and design a wedding based on their love story! Miranda and Riley wanted to feel free to pick things they loved as they saw and thought of them. The bridesmaids chose their own dresses, shoes, and hair and makeup. Their dresses were all so unique and absolutely perfect!
As if the mention of Riley making his boutonnière did not give you a hint that they are creative, this will surely convince you that Miranda and Riley are quite the creative couple! A lot of the stunning details you will see, they designed and created themselves. They love vintage things like postage and wax seals, and they love to travel (you should definitely read how they met in Japan HERE). So they incorporated all their loves for their details! While Wedding Paper Divas printed the invitation, Miranda and Riley hand stamped all the wax seals and tied the ribbon. But one of the coolest aspect of their invitation was the postcard RSVP cards and the drawing of Stevenson Ridge that Miranda drew herself! Talk about talented!! But her artistic abilities do not end there! The silhouette painting behind their sweetheart table was also painted by Miranda and used as the frame for the photo booth strips!
Their creative talents do not end there! For their reception, they arranged their own flowers, marbled the paper for the menu cards, and did all the wax seals! Miranda and Riley made their own seating arrangements with inspiration from all their travels together. They used a lot of things they already owned like, glassware, picture frames, easels, and boxes, so they literally brought their own possessions to decorate their wedding! Talk about special and unique!
