Emily and Chris had quite the adventurous first date! Chris suggested a hike on Old Rag Mountain without even knowing that the top if one of Emily’s favorite spots. They were both trying to play it cool while secretly dying trying to climb up the mountain. And if you have ever hiked old Rag, you can totally sympathize with them! It is most definitely the hardest hike I have ever done!
Their favorite date nights are just hanging around their house. Both Emily and Chris have quite the commutes for their jobs and are pretty busy at times, so just being able to spend time together at home is best! They like to make dinner, enjoy some beers, and hang out with their two dogs. Currently, their date nights involve spending a lot of time working with their dogs, so they can be in their wedding as a groomsman and bridesmaid! 🙂 Won’t that be so adorable to see those fur babies walking down the aisle?
I love the way Emily tells the story of their proposal!
“He claims that I messed up his original proposal idea by finding a bill from Jared’s in the mail. Chris wanted it to be a surprise and figured out I’d be expecting it when we went to Ashville, NC at the end of April so he decided to change his plans. It ended up happening on a Monday after work. We had decided to eat outside on the patio and grill since the weather was a rare 70 degrees in March. Our two dogs, Bonnie and Clyde stood beside him when he surprised me with the proposal. I was completely in shock!”
In November of this year, Emily and Chris will be getting married at Rixey Manor! They will be celebrating with a simple, natural, and fun wedding!
