Whitney and Brian met online over 10 years ago!!! Let that sink in before reading their awesome meeting story! 🙂 They met through a friend of a friend of a friend who shared Brian’s AOL Instant Messenger screen name (how cool is that?!). While they didn’t officially meet in person until 10th grade, they became really good friends throughout their online conversations. They stayed best friends throughout high school and into freshman year of college when they officially became “official”!
Throughout the 10 years of their relationship, Whitney and Brian have come to the realization that they like low-key date nights. They bought a house two years ago and love just hanging at home together with their dog. Enjoying dinner, a movie, and listening to music is their favorite!
Back in May 2016, Whitney and Brian went to California for a long Memorial Day weekend. After Brian’s plan to propose after hiking up to the Hollywood sign failed, he did it spur of the moment on the beach in Santa Monica later that afternoon! Whitney, of course, said “YES!” 🙂 They will be getting married this September on the beach and will be having a relaxed and fun wedding day!
I have always heard such wonderful things about Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and all the various spots in the gardens, but have only been there during the festival of lights. It definitely did not disappoint! What I was not prepared for was all the wildlife! I’m sure you’re probably thinking, “But Emily, you are in a garden. Wouldn’t you expect that?” No, because normally all the people scare them off. However, throughout our time together, Whitney, Brian, Greg, and I saw nesting geese, a bunch of chipmunks, and something we definitely were not prepared for: a raccoon! It was seriously the most adventurous engagement session we have had thus far! Let’s just hope that their beach wedding doesn’t have as many uninvited wildlife! 🙂
